Where can I get the CPI for Italy?
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is available from a number of sources but the dates available vary.
- World Development Indicators Online (WDI) provides direct access to more than 700 development indicators with time series for 208 countries and 18 country groups from 1960 to 2015, where data are available. Look for "Inflation, consumer prices (annual %)"
- IHS Connect. This database is also listed on the Databases A to Z page. Once the database is launched, just choose Geography from the bar at the top and choose Italy. On the resulting page, find the Research and Data Center. You will then find the CPI Tables for Italy with the CPI back to 1980.
The PESTLE (political, economic, social, technolological, legal and environmental) Insights published by MarketLine include the CPI and are available through Business Source Complete EBSCO. Keyword search for Italy AND PESTLE to retrieve this report.
- FACTSET also has the CPI tables of different counties. Factset is available on Library computers and in the Trading Room. Launch FACTSET from Start menu, then look under My Markets => Economics => Reports.
- The Library has the International Monetary Yearbook in print which has the CPI for Italy. The current volume is at the Reference Desk. Each volume has 10 years worth of data that overlaps. The last volume we currently have is 1972, so if you need to go back further than 1980 you will be able to.
