Our policy is that people need to speak quietly in the open areas (we prefer whispers), but to be silent in the large study rooms at the back of the main and upper levels of the library.

If you feel like you want to, you can ask people to quiet down. However, we know that can feel awkward or unpleasant.

Instead, you can ask any library staff member, in person or online, to take care of this for you. We recommend use of the anonymous Chat With Us link that is located on our home page at library.bentley.edu, in the Research Help box in the lower left corner of the page. We monitor this in real time at both of the desks on the main level.

If no one is online to chat, please click the Report a Problem link (this is located under the Quick Links banner on our home page) and choose Help Keep the Library Quiet.
