How do I search the Archives for a specific subject or topic?
Archives are traditionally organized according to place of origin. So, for example, all records created by the Office of the President will be collected and arranged together. However, collections can contain information on a number of different subjects, which can lead to difficulty for users - particularly those outside of the organization.
To help make your research experience more intuitive, we have created a LibGuide that can help you locate archival resources by subject. Our most common and well-represented subjects are listed in this guide, along with all of the archival collections containing information about those subjects.
You may access the guide here: Archives Subject LibGuide
If you need information on a subject that is not covered in this guide, please contact the Archivist for individual assistance in answering your research question.
