Medium or Substack are self-publishing platforms where writers can share their work on a variety of topics. While some of the content might be free, these sites work on a subscription based model and you may find content you are interested in locked behind members only paywalls. Subscription models between these platforms vary where you might pay for access to all content on the platform or select subscriptions where you only subscribe to content you are interested in reading.
The content published on these sites is not available through the library's subscription databases and articles cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan. (Though depending on the author, you may find their other works such as books or articles published in journals in our collections.)
Users interested in access to blogs and newsletters published on these platforms that are locked behind paywalls will have to sign up for their own personal accounts and subscriptions.
